Health Monitoring Center for Overseas Entrants (HCO), Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare

To Anyone Entering/Returning to Japan

As part of border measures to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19),
enhanced quarantine procedures are in place for entry to Japan.

Travellers are strongly encouraged to use Fast Track to simplify Japan entry procedures.

To use Fast Track you must pre-register via MySOS Web (online) or the MySOS app.

Quarantine measures that apply to you will depend on where you stayed before entering Japan and whether or not you have had been vaccinated with valid vaccines (3 doses). Therefore, please check which measures apply to you.

Select country

If you stayed in more than one country, please confirm the status for each one.
If results differ, they will apply in this order: (1) quarantine at a facility arranged by quarantine officials, (2) quarantine at home/accommodations, (3) no quarantine.

(Example: If you recently stayed more than one country and your results "quarantine at a facility arranged by quarantine officials” and “no quarantine,” the former will apply.)

Notices

*We have restored the passport image pre-registration feature.
The system changed late on September 15, 2022, to restore the passport pre-registration feature.
Note: If you have already registered your Questionnaire Web responses before the system transition, you will not be able to register your passport.

* Important announcement about Fast Track
Due to changes in the system as of 00:00 JST on September 7th, 2022, when you pre-register for quarantine procedures via MySOS Web (online) or the MySOS app, the screen will turn green or blue if you have submitted either your vaccination certificate or test certificate for a COVID test taken less than 72 hours before departure, and our review has been completed.
(※this change will affect travelers in the order of the closest expected arrival date after the system change that takes effect at approximately 00:00 JST on September 7th, 2022)

If your submission is under review during the system transition at approximately 00:00 JST on September 7th:
If you have submitted your vaccination certificate and our review has been completed before the transition and your screen was yellow, your status after the transition will change to "Review completed" and the screen will change to green or blue, even if your status was previously still under review or your test certificate (COVID test taken less than 72 hours before departure) was rejected.
(This process will be applied first for travelers closest to their planned arrival date. There may be a delay (about two days at most) in yellow screens switching to green or blue, but please rest assured that the process will be complete before you enter Japan.)
